Senior Computer Vision Engineer
Own the production CV pipeline that turns seven onboarding photos into a structured aesthetic analysis. Python, PyTorch, MediaPipe, FastAPI.
About the role
You’ll own the production computer-vision pipeline that turns each VERASOMA customer’s seven onboarding photos into a fully structured AnalysisResponse. The pipeline is the single most important artefact at VERASOMA - the entire portal and mobile app are read-only views over what you produce.
You report to the Head of Engineering. You’ll work closely with the rest of the engineering team and a part-time aesthetic-medicine advisor.
What you’ll do
- Lead architecture of the CV pipeline: face detection, landmark extraction, region segmentation, asset rendering.
- Maintain and improve the trained models behind eye-shape, skin condition, and hair (Norwood-stage) classifiers.
- Build the validation layer that gates uploads on face/framing/lighting/sharpness.
- Define and track quality metrics across the pipeline; work with the Head of Engineering on the experimentation cadence.
- Pair with the backend team to keep the Pydantic contract clean as new measurements land.
Required experience
- 5+ years of production ML / CV work, with at least 2 years on a face-analysis or medical-imaging pipeline.
- Deep Python, PyTorch (or equivalent), and OpenCV / MediaPipe.
- Comfortable with FastAPI / async Python and shipping behind a typed contract.
- Track record of taking ML work from notebook to production.
Preferred experience
- Prior aesthetics, dermatology, or oral-maxillofacial domain experience.
- Familiarity with MediaPipe Face Mesh, BlazeFace, or comparable landmark stacks.
- Open-source contributions in CV / ML.
Why VERASOMA
- Small team, big surface area. Your code ships to every customer immediately.
- Remote-first since day one with synchronous overlap windows for collaboration.
- Equity in a company building the analysis layer for an entire category.
- A research advisor on call so the work stays grounded in published methodology.
How to apply
Email support@verasoma.com with a CV and a short note (no cover letter) describing one CV / ML project you led from notebook to production.
